Our Program: Pilgrimage to Rome & Assisi

Day 1 – Arrival in Rome

  • Arrival at Rome Fiumicino Airport. Meet your English-speaking tour escort and transfer by private coach.
  • Check-in at your centrally located hotel.
  • Welcome Mass at a historic Roman church.
  • Group dinner and overnight in Rome.
  •  

Day 2 – Christian Rome: Foundations of Faith

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Visit the Basilica of St. John Lateran, the oldest and highest-ranking papal basilica.
  • Climb the Holy Stairs (Scala Santa), believed to be the steps Jesus ascended during His Passion.
  • Visit the Basilica of St. Mary Major, with stunning mosaics and relics of the Nativity.
  • Afternoon visit to the Catacombs of St. Callixtus.
  • Evening Mass and dinner.

Day 3 – Vatican City: Heart of the Church

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Attend the Papal Audience in St. Peter’s Square (subject to papal schedule).
  • Guided visit to St. Peter’s Basilica, including Michelangelo’s Pietà and the tomb of St. John Paul II.
  • Optional entrance to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel.
  • Mass in a Vatican chapel (subject to availability).

Day 4 – Rome: Saints and Culture

Day 5 – Journey to Assisi

  • Breakfast and check-out.
  • Scenic drive to Assisi with a stop at Santa Maria degli Angeli to visit the Porziuncola.
  • Arrival in Assisi and check-in at your hotel.
  • Orientation walk through the medieval town.
  • Group dinner and overnight.

Day 6 – Assisi: In the Footsteps of St. Francis

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Guided visit of the Basilica of St. Francis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • Participation in the Ostensione of the Body of St. Francis, a rare and deeply moving event.
    This solemn moment takes place within the Lower Basilica, where the body of St. Francis rests in a crypt carved into the rock.
    The Ostensione offers pilgrims a unique opportunity for prayer and reflection in the presence of the Saint who transformed the Church through humility, peace, and love for creation.
  • Visit the Basilica of St. Clare and the San Damiano Cross.
  • Mass at the Basilica or local chapel.
  • Dinner and overnight in Assisi.

Day 7 – Assisi: Contemplation and Nature

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Morning excursion to the Eremo delle Carceri, a peaceful hermitage in the hills.
  • Optional group reflection or spiritual talk.
  • Afternoon at leisure.
  • Closing Mass and farewell dinner.

Day 8 – Departure
