Pope Leo XIV has announced that the next World Youth Day will be held on August 3 – 8, 2027 in Seoul, South Korea

World Youth Day (WYD) is an event organized by the Catholic Church that brings together young people from around the world to celebrate their faith, share experiences, and deepen their understanding of the teachings of the Catholic Church. It was initiated by Pope John Paul II in 1985, and it typically takes place every two to three years in different locations around the world.

The next World Youth Day will take place from August 3 to August 8, 2027 in Seoul, the capital suspended between past and future in the dazzling South Korea. The announcement came at the end of World Youth Day 2023, held in Lisbon, Portugal. This will be the first WYD under Pope Leo XIV, the first American Pope, making this event even more historic and unforgettable.
