SOUTH KOREA AWAITS YOU

South Korea is everywhere. On the music front, BTS (short for “Bangtan Sonyeondan”) are breaking records in the music industry worldwide, the first act since The Beatles to have six no.1 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 in just over one year.

On the media front, Squid Game broke Netflix record with 111 million users watching in its first 28 days, the biggest series launch on the streaming platform. More generally, South Korea is leading pop culture – along with many other sectors – internationally.

As for tourism, before the outbreak of COVID-19 South Korea was recording a new peak in the number of visitors to the country. Prior to the pandemic, the country’s tourism industry was constantly growing and highly benefitting from Hallyu, the so-called Korean Wave.

In 2019, South Korea counted more than 17 million arrivals from international destinations (World Tourism Organization). If you think the pandemic cooled down the interest in the country and Korean culture, you better think twice.

FAQs

Q: Which month is best to visit South Korea?

A: South Korea is a captivating destination that offers something special in every season!

Still, the ideal time to explore South Korea is during the pleasant spring months of April, May, and June, as well as the enchanting autumn months of September, October, and November. These seasons offer delightful weather with sunny days and comfortable temperatures, making it the perfect time to experience the country’s natural beauty and cultural treasures.

Remember that the rainy season, “장마철”, in South Korea, also known as the monsoon season, typically occurs in the summer months. It typically begins in late June and lasts until late July or early August. During this period, the country experiences heavy rainfall and high humidity as the monsoon front moves across the Korean Peninsula.
