The next Jubilee will be held in 2025. Join us for a year of grace, spirituality, and prayer.
The Jubilee is a special year of grace that has its origins in the Jewish tradition.
In the Catholic Church, it is a year of the remission of sins, conversion, and sacramental penance. It’s a year of pilgrimages, of a focus on the spiritual life, of confession and special Masses, and of a general turn towards God in thanksgiving, and in repentance.
Initially scheduled every 50 years, nowadays it occurs every 25 years. The Jubilee (or Holy Year) is called Ordinary (or Major) when tied to predetermined deadlines and Extraordinary (or Minor) when proclaimed for some particularly significant event.
Pilgrims of Hope
“Pilgrims of Hope” is the motto chosen by Pope Francis for the Jubilee that will take place in 2025.
Hope, both in prayer and in everyday life, is an unparalleled driving force. Hope propels us into the future, directs us towards building something, towards goodness. In a world and an era where fear prevails, praying and reflecting on hope invite us to look beyond, to set aside what keeps us attached to the past or stuck where we are, and to have faith. Having hope is an act of faith.

Jubilee Events Calendar
The official calendar for all Jubilee Events is now available.
You can download it from our website or the official Jubilee website. The calendar will be gradually updated as the Jubilee year approaches.
Visitors will be able to ask information on the Jubilee Year, at a Pilgrims Center – Info Point to be inaugurated on June 1 in the premises of Via della Conciliazione, 7 in front of st. Peters’ Basilica .
