“Classic Egypt” is an 8 days journey to discover the mysteries and wonders of ancient Egypt. This itinerary will take you to the Three Pyramids of Giza, Cheops, Kefrin and Mecerinos, the most important of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. You will also be able to admire the Sphinx and visit the Temple of Kefrin.
Our tour will also lead you to Luxor, Esna, Edfu and Aswan. Visit the Temple of Karnak, the Temple of Luxor, the Temple of Horus and the temple dedicated to the gods Sobek and Haroeris.
ITINERARY
Day 1 – CAIRO
Arrival at Cairo International Airport. Reception, assistance and transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 2 – CAIRO
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning enjoy a panoramic including the Three Pyramids of Giza: Cheops, Kefrin and Mecerinos, the architectural complex is considered as the most important of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. We will admire the Sphinx with a human head attributed to King Kefrin and the body of a lion and visit the Temple of Kefrin. Transfer to the hotel and the afternoon is at leisure with the possibility of an optional excursion to Memphis and Sakkara. Overnight.
Day 3 – CAIRO – LUXOR
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Cairo Airport and departure to Luxor. Upon arrival we transfer to the cruise ship for boarding. Lunch will be served on board. In the afternoon we visit of the Temple of Karnak which is considered the largest temple in Egypt with its avenue of rams and its room of 132 columns. We then visit the Temple of Luxor dedicated to the god Amun – Ra including the Avenue of the Sphinxes, the Obelisk over 25 meters high and the statues of Ramses II and Naos. Dinner and overnight on board in Luxor.
Day 4 – LUXOR – ESNA – EDFU
Breakfast on board. Our morning will be free with the possibility of an optional excursion to Luxor. Lunch included. We then navigate to Esna, passing the lock and then continue to Edfu where we stop for dinner and overnight on board.
Day 5 – EDFU – KOM OMBO – ASWAN
Breakfast on board. Visit to the Temple of Horus, the best preserved temple in Egypt and the most important one after Karnak. Its most curious features is the lighting of the temple, with smaller and smaller rooms that gradually prevent the passage of light until reaching the dark sanctuary, which receives lighting only from the shaft. Lunch will be served on board. In the afternoon we start our navigation to Kom Ombo. Visit to the temple dedicated to the gods Sobek and Haroeris. In this temple the relief of medicinal instruments stands out above all. Legend has it that the locals did not like to be associated with a god representing evil (Sobek), so they added another god, Haroeris, as a brother and partner in temple worship. Unfortunately Sobek, the evil Brother, began plotting against his brother Haroeris who then decided to leave the city. When the inhabitants realized that their beloved god had left the city, they decided to leave too, thus leaving the city completely deserted. Navigation to Aswan. Dinner and overnight on board.
Day 6 – ASWAN
Breakfast on board. Visit to the High Dam which was considered the largest dam in the world, with a body of 3800 meters and 111 meters high. We will then see the unfinished Obelisk, with its height of 42 meters and weight of 1176 tons, located inside the pink granite quarries. Lunch on board and free afternoon with the possibility of optional visits in Aswan. Dinner and overnight on board.
Day 7 – ASWAN / CAIRO
Disembark after breakfast. Free morning with the possibility to enjoy an optional excursion to Abu Simbel. At the scheduled time, transfer to the Aswan Airport to take the flight back to Cairo. Reception, assistance. Transfer to the hotel and overnight.
Day 8 – CAIRO
Breakfast at the hotel.Transfer to the international airport. End of our services.
